Maui Adventure 2018

Samantha graduated Magna Cum Laude with her BFA degree in Modern Dance, from Point Park University. Prior to her move to Pittsburgh, she studied dance at the prestigious Chicago Academy for the Arts under the direction of Randy Duncan.

During her time at Point Park, Samantha has had the opportunity to work with prestigious choreographers such as Kate Skarpetowska, Kiesha Lalama, James Gregg, Ruben Graciani, Ori Flomin and more. She spent her Spring 2017 semester studying contemporary dance in Europe through the University of Southern Florida’s Dance in Paris semester program, under the direction of Michael Foley. While abroad, she studied with many world-renowned choreographers and artists across various countries in Europe.

Additionally, Samantha has participated in many festivals and intensives to broaden her dance lens. Her studies include programs such as North West Dance Project's LAUNCH, the Akram Khan Intensive at Orsolina28, Johannes Weiland's B12 Festival, the Movement Invention Project, Dance Works Chicago, Houston Met Dance, River North Dance Chicago, and Hubbard Street Dance.

Since graduating from Point Park, Samantha choreographed and premiered two professional works in Chicago. She loves being a part of a creative process and is constantly looking for new/many artists to work with. Her latest piece was premiered in Alluvion Dance Chicago's Emergence Dance Festival in June 2019.

 

Samantha recently performed with Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble as a guest artist for their show"i bet you think this dance is about you". Starting the Fall of 2019, Samantha will join South Chicago Dance Theatre as a company member. She is thrilled to be a part of a touring dance ensemble, and continue her professional performing career in Chicago.

When Samantha is not dancing, she enjoys a rigorous pilates class. She completed her comprehensive certification at Core Chicago Pilates through Holly Swanson's and Jacquelyn Brennan's program: "The Lab". She has loved every second of her training experience, and is now teaching at Core Chicago Pilates. Check out the testimonials and her class schedule under the 

                      . Samantha also dabbles in photography, and loves to capture dancers in and outside the dance studio. Aside from dance, pilates, and photography, Samantha loves to hike with her friends, and spend her free time with her family.
